Tamas is a photographic exploration of my personal experience with depression. Through a series of photographs in colours, I aim to convey the complex emotions and struggles that I faced during this difficult time in my life.
Using a combination of self-portraits and still life compositions, I sought to create visual metaphors for the feelings of isolation, hopelessness, and emptiness that I experienced. The use of shadows and stark contrasts represents the darkness that enveloped me and the sense of being trapped in my own mind.
Through this project, I hope to provide a glimpse into the often-invisible world of mental illness and to challenge the stigma surrounding depression. By sharing my story through visual art, I aim to create a sense of empathy and understanding for those who may be going through similar struggles. I also aim to challenge the notion that depression is a weakness or a personal failing. It is a real and debilitating condition that affects millions of people worldwide.
Ultimately, my goal is to encourage others to speak out about their own experiences with mental health and to seek support and treatment when needed. Through art and storytelling, we can create a more compassionate and supportive society that values and prioritizes mental wellness.
